EXPLORE! has absorbed the previous BASE program and is offering after school enrichment opportunities to youth ages 6-17 years old. The program director, Deon Tempfer has completed her first summer day camp program and is excited to offer field trips, after school classes and community service projects during the 2009/2010 school year.

Please Bring: Lunch, plenty of water, snacks, towel, bathing suit, sun screen, an extra swim shirt that can get wet, appropriate water shoes. All fishinhg tackle will be proveded, however if children want to bring their own fishing gear then they can, but are responsible for their personal items.

Wet and Wild is just that! We get wet and wild. This adventure packed week will include trips to Cortez, Durango, Ridgway, and Grand Junction to explore water parks, lakes, and rivers for us to swim in.

Why not end the summer with a little bash? This last week of summer camp will include days playing outside in the sun and water. Daily activities will vary depending on children's request .

Registration Information- All of the summer camps require pre-registration. A 10% discount will be awarded for registration prior to May 3, 2010. All registered camp attendees need to have up-to-date immunizations on file and all enrollment forms completed to prior camp's start date.
Cost- All cost listed below are half- day or full- day prices. Scholarships are available upon request. Applications are at the Prime Time Day Care. The day care is open from 6:30am-6:30pm.

eon Tempfer
Director of the Explore Program- Deon has been a resident of Norwood Colorado for sixteen years. She has thirty-one years of outdoor education experience including several certifications from the NRA. She has worked for the Ministry of Environment in British Columbia, Canada, and Hunter Education Officer for the Florida Game and Fish Commission. This is her second year with the summer program and cannot wait to get started!
Vanessa Northrup
Assistant Director of the Explore Program- Vanessa is a student at Fort Lewis College. She has studied Athletic Training for two years, and is now studying Animal Science/ Agriculture. This is her second year working for the summer program. Vanessa is certified in First Aid, CPR, and is First Responder. She is very excited for the summer and hopes that many people come out to join her!

Zach Andrews
Camp Instructor- Zach is a senior in high school. He is planning on graduating high school this May, and then attending Fort Lewis College in the fall to study architecture and drafting. He was the captain of the basketball team, and a key player on the football team. He is very excited to be a part of the fun this summer.
Corey Jacobs
Camp Instructor- Corey has worked with youth in many capacities including coaching, helping with church youth group activities and fostering. He is a volunteer firefighter and is working on his EMT certiication. His many trainings include safety, mental health, medications. FEMA certification, child development, abuse awareness and more. He has a certicicate in carpentry and is certified in CPR and First Aid..

Samantha Jacobs
Camp Instructor- Samantha is a licensed teacher at the Norwood Middle/ High School. She has over 20 years of experience teaching arts and crafts, sewing, cooking and more to the youth. In the past she has worked with youth as a camp counselor, tutor, nanny, and coach. She was also a substitute cook for Meals on Wheels, a volunteer for KICKs afterschool program, and is currently a licensed foster parent. In the past she has mentored youth at risk, managed the Gallatin Valley Underage Drinking Prevention Program, taught Adult Education classes and taught for fourteen years in public schools including the areas of home economics, health, art, language arts and social studies. She is certified in CPR and First Aid
